Thursday TV Ratings: ELEMENTARY and GREY’S ANATOMY Rise; BIG BANG THEORY and SCANDAL Hit Season Lows

Thursday evening’s TV ratings are in, reflecting some stiff drops in viewership opposite Game 2 of the World Series.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

  • CBS’ Elementary finally saw a rise in viewership last night, scoring a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.59 million viewers.  That’s up three tenths over last week’s series low 1.5 rating.
  • Over on ABC, Grey’s Anatomy also ticked up with a 2.8 rating and 8.53 million viewers, which is up one tenth from last week’s 2.7 rating.  If you’re looking to catch up on the long-running soap, Comcast VOD is currently the exclusive home of all previous episodes of Grey’s.
  • The comedy juggernaut The Big Bang Theory garnered a season low 4.9 rating and 16.47 million viewers, dropping three tenths from last week’s 5.2 rating.  Nevertheless, it still managed to stand head and shoulders above everything else on TV last night.
  • Also down was ABC’s much buzzed-about Scandal, which hit a season low 3.0 rating and 8.65 million viewers for a drop of three tenths.

CBS

  • the-big-bang-theory-the-romance-resonanceThe Big Bang Theory notched a 4.9 rating and 16.47 million viewers, dropping three tenths from last week’s 5.2 rating and marking a season low.
  • Also down was the recently renewed new comedy series The Millers, which hit a series low 2.8 rating and 10.88 million viewers for a drop of four tenths from last week’s 3.2 rating.
  • The Crazy Ones (also renewed) scored a series low 2.3 rating and 8.77 million viewers, which is down a tenth from last week’s 2.4 rating.
  • Two and a Half Men, on the other hand, was up two tenths from last week’s series low 2.1 rating with a 2.3 rating and 8.42 million viewers.
  • Finally, the procedural Elementary closed out the night with a 1.8 rating and 8.59 million viewers, which is up over last week’s 1.5 rating.

NBC

  • Sean Saves the World scored a 1.1 rating and 4.03 million viewers, which is even with last week’s performance.
  • The Michael J Fox Show matched last week’s 1.2 rating and scored 3.74 million viewers.
  • Parenthood was also even, hitting a 1.3 rating and 3.96 million viewers.

ABC

  • The spinoff series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland dropped one tenth from last week’s 1.2 rating, scoring a 1.1 rating and 4.34 million viewers.
  • Grey’s Anatomy notched a 2.8 rating and 8.53 million viewers, rising a tenth from last week’s 2.7 rating.
  • Scandal hit a season low 3.0 rating and 8.65 million viewers, dropping three tenths from last week’s 3.3 rating.

The CW

  • Over on The CW, The Vampire Diaries dropped two tenths from last week’s 1.3 rating to a 1.1 rating and 2.5 million viewers.
  • Also down was the new series Reign, which hit a 0.6 rating and 1.84 million viewers for a drop of two tenths from last week’s 0.8 rating.
