
Wednesday evening’s TV ratings are in. Here’s a brief look at the highlights:
- ABC’s Modern Family saw an uptick of five tenths from its last new episode’s 4.2 rating with a 4.7 rating and 12 million viewers.
- Also up was the ABC sitcom The Middle, which scored a 2.4 rating and 8.4 million viewers. That’s a rise of three tenths from its last new episode’s 2.1 rating.
- On the flipside, Chicago Fire was down with a 2.2 rating and 7.9 million viewers versus last week’s series high of 2.4.

ABC
The Middle hit a 2.4 rating and 8.4 million viewers, up from its last new episode’s 2.1 rating.- New series The Neighbors scored a 2.0 rating and 6.6 million viewers, up considerably from its last original episode’s 1.6 rating.
- Modern Family was the highest-rated and most-watched program of the night, hitting a 4.7 rating and 11.9 million viewers for its New Year’s Eve-themed episode. That’s a rise from its last new episode’s 4.7 rating.
- Suburgatory was also up, garnering a 2.7 rating and 7 million viewers for a rise over its last new episode’s 2.2 rating.
- Finally, the drama series Nashville hit a 2.0 rating and 5.8 million viewers, up slightly from its last original episode’s 1.9 rating.
NBC
- Over on NBC, Whitney hit a 1.4 rating and 4.1 million viewers. That’s down from last week’s 1.8 rating.
- New comedy Guys with Kids scored a 1.3 rating and 4 million viewers for a drop of four tenths from last week’s 1.7 rating.
- Law & Order: SVU was also down, earning a 2.1 rating and 8.3 million viewers versus last week’s 2.2 rating.
- New series Chicago Fire was down as well, though that was to be expected coming off its series high ratings of 2.4 last week. This week it scored a 2.2 rating and 7.9 million viewers.
