Monday TV Ratings: REVOLUTION Dips in Return, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and THE FOLLOWING Hit Season Lows

Monday evening’s TV ratings are in.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

  • After being off the air for four months, NBC’s new drama series Revolution finally returned last night and it actually held better than some expected.  The episode hit a 2.7 rating and 7.25 million viewers, which is down just two tenths from its midseason finale’s 2.9 rating last November.
  • A surprisingly emotional episode of How I Met Your Mother garnered a season low 2.7 rating and 6.85 million viewers, which is down three tenths from last week’s 3.0 rating.
  • Also down was Fox’s drama series The Following, which scored a series low 2.3 rating and 6.63 million viewers for a drop of two tenths from last week’s 2.5 rating.

CBS

  • how-i-met-your-mother-the-time-travelersLast night’s powerful episode of How I Met Your Mother hit a season low with a 2.7 rating and 6.85 million viewers for a drop of three tenths from last week’s 3.0 rating.
  • Rules of Engagement hit a season low 2.1 rating and 6.18 million viewers, which is down two tenths from last week’s 2.3 rating.
  • The comedy 2 Broke Girls was up, hitting a 2.9 rating and 8.55 million viewers for a rise of one tenth over last week’s 2.8 rating.
  • Mike & Molly was also up, garnering a 2.6 rating and 8.64 million viewers.  That’s a rise of two tenths from last week’s season low 2.4 rating.
  • The drama Hawaii Five-0 notched a 2.0 rating and 8.16 million viewers, dropping a tenth from last week’s 2.1 rating.

NBC

  • Revolution returned with a 2.7 rating and 7.25 million viewers, down two tenths from its last original episode’s 2.9 rating.

FOX

  • Bones was down two tenths from last week’s 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demo with a 1.9 rating and 6.75 million viewers.
  • New series The Following hit a series low with a 2.3 rating and 6.63 million viewers, which is down two tenths from last week’s 2.5 rating.

ABC

  • Castle hit a 2.1 rating and 10.69 million viewers, dropping a tenth from last week’s 2.2 rating.

The CW

  • Over at The CW, The Carrie Diaries was even with last week’s 0.4 rating and scored 940,000 viewers.
