TV ratings for Tuesday, October 7th are in, bringing both good and bad news for superhero fans.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

  • The CW’s series debut of its Arrow spinoff The Flash got off to a very good start, hitting a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demo and scoring 4.5 million viewers.  The performance marked The CW’s most-watched and highest-rated series debut since The Vampire Diaries premiered in 2009.  It also helps that the show is apparently quite good, as our own Dave Trumbore can attest in his full recap.
  • On the flipside, ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to struggle as it fell to yet another series low last night, earning a 1.6 rating and scoring 4.39 million viewers.  That’s down two tenths from last week.  Read Evan Valentine’s recap here.
