While many older Collider readers might not know who Raven Symone is, trust me, she’s a big deal. As the star the Disney Channel show “That’s So Raven,” she has a huge following. Also, she’s been acting since she was four years old (she played the youngest daughter on the “Cosby Show” during it’s last few seasons) so she has a lot of fans.

At any rate, opening this Friday is “College Road Trip” and the film stars Martin Lawrence as an overprotective father that isn’t quite ready to let go of his college bound daughter - who is played by Raven-Symone.

In the film, Melanie (Raven-Symone) is eagerly looking forward to her first big step towards independence when she plans a “girls only” road trip to check out prospective universities. But when her overbearing police chief father (Martin Lawrence) insists on escorting her instead, she soon finds her dream trip has turned into a nightmare adventure full of comical misfortune and turmoil.

While the adventure could have easily gone for R rated laughs and situations, since it’s a Walt Disney movie and rated G, it’s completely safe for the whole family and I’m sure Raven-Symone fans will love seeing her on the big screen.

Anyway, the other day I was able to talk with her about the movie and her upcoming album and tour. I hope you enjoy it. And if you want to watch some movie clips from “College Road Trip,” just click here.
