Universal has set a release date for "Bruno," Sacha Baron Cohen's follow-up to 2006's hit "Borat." According to Daily Variety the R-rated comedy will premiere on May 15th of 2009 – the same day as Ron Howard's "The Da Vinci Code" follow-up "Angels and Demons."

That's gonna be a tough one to call, huh? Would you rather be lulled to sleep by Tom Hanks or laugh your ass off (and I happen to know that asses will be featured prominently) with Baron Cohen and his leather-clad faux celebrity journalist Bruno?

Like "Borat," the character 'Bruno' was created by Sacha Baron Cohen and was featured on his late HBO sketch comedy program "Da Ali G Show." Bruno is a WAY gay Austrian television reporter who focuses on fashion and celebrity – oh, and on fucking with people from

Kansas.

"Borat" earned Fox close to 130 million back in 2006 – and that was in November dollars! Imagine how well "Bruno" will do when he lands in the middle of the kid-friendly, mom-approved summer season? I can already picture teen boys everywhere quoting passages and describing scenes in detail – it won't make them seem gay… just funny – right?
