Renee Russo has been confirmed to appear in Thor, playing Frigga, the wife of Odin (played by Anthony Hopkins). Variety is reporting that the new Queen of Asgard is joining Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Natalie Portman (Thor‘s love interest) in Kenneth Branaugh’s action-adventure epic. Filming is set to begin next January with an anticipated release date of May 20, 2011.
