Screen Gems has released the first trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which as the name suggests is the sixth and final installment in the long-running Resident Evil film franchise. Paul W.S. Anderson, the director of the first and fifth installments in the series, returns to write and helm this final installment, which picks up immediately after the events of Resident Evil: Retribution. Alice (Milla Jovovich) finds herself as the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s last stand against the undead, and now must return to where it all began—The Hive in Raccoon City—where the Umbrella Corporation is readying its final strike against the survivors of the apocalypse.

Judging by this first trailer, it looks like...a Resident Evil movie!  Anderson's clearly going for a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality, and since people are still turning out for these movies, it makes sense that he's just piling on the action and hoping for the best. Resident Evil is the most successful video game franchise to date having grossed $914 million worldwide over the course of five movies.  We'll have to wait and see if The Final Chapter can send the franchise out on a high note.
