Director Paul W.S. Anderson shot Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D, and the marketing department at Screen Gems plans to take full advantage of that fact.  This new poster features star Milla Jovovich busting through glass with guns ambidextrously blazing, and rumor has it that when you see it in theaters, the art will make use of the third dimension.  If you're excited for the film, I imagine this is right up your alley.

Milla Jovovich  and Ali Larter return as Alice and Claire, respectively, for the fourth entry in the Resident Evil franchise --- Afterlife marks the screen debut of fan favorite character Chris Redfield, whom Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) will bring to life from the video games.  Click here for Steve’s report on visiting the set of the film, and check out the poster after the jump.

Here's a synopsis:

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

Resident Evil: Afterlife hits theaters in 3D on September 10th.
