Resident Evil Retribution slice

Screen Gems has released the first teaser poster and new artwork from Paul W.S. Anderson‘s Resident Evil: Retribution.   RE5 marks the fifth entry in the popular post-apocalyptic series. This time, Alice (Milla Jovovich) continues her search across the globe for those responsible for the deadly outbreak. Things take a twist, however, when she runs into a few familiar faces.  RE5 was written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and it stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, and Li Bingbing.  Hit the jump to check out the poster and artwork and here’s the first teaser trailer and 25 Things to Know About the movie from my set visit.

Here’s the official synopsis for Resident Evil: Retribution which gets released September 14th:

The wildly successful film franchise adaptation that has grossed nearly $700 million worldwide to the popular video game series, “Resident Evil,” returns in its highly anticipated fifth installment, “Re5ident Evil: Retribution” in state-of-the art 3D.

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

I actually kind of like the poster. I have zero hope for the film, but for a teaser, it’s not bad. Better than Milla holding guns like the previous posters and any ‘Underworld’ poster.

I’m more than excited to see the Resident Evil movie. I’ve loved all of them. And I have full confidence in it. And I know for a fact that like 75% of the people who hates will in fact go see it, only to bitch about it on Facebook or You Tube about how bad it was how they wasted their money. But unlike them I will enjoy this awesome series that will come. Just like I’ll enjoy the new Resident Evil games that are soon to come out. So people who continue to bash down on the movie I have the most simplest solution. Don’t see it. Don’t look it up. Don’t do anything that involves the RE movies. And you’ll be just fine. And to people who are fans of both games and movie rejoice in this awesome ass movie. :3

I actually think this movie looks much better than the others, i think it will surprise both fans of the games and movies. the poster looks much more grown up and dark, similar to the games i think. I have a feeling that critically, this will be the best yet, however it will have to really draw in the audience to beat its last box office. (:

Oh dear, when will they put an end to this terrible series of films.
I hand a big FUCK YOU to the brainless fools who keep watching these films, you are to blame for them making more and more of these wretched atrocities. But i suppose there has to be something for the idiots to watch, how are those brain cells hanging in there?

But really, this is one series that DOES need a reboot!!!
A decent horror reboot, with actual intense zombie/monster scenes, suspense and horror and a decent story with a good bunch of fairly well written characters, rather than some stupid action cheese fest with little to no plot (to say these films had plot of some kind would be paying them too much credit) and characters that are there just to leap around like they are in the Matrix throwing stuff at my face constantly, with the same acting and directing quality of an episode of Power Rangers.
Its existence insults the video games and any fan of film and cinema!

But thats what you get when its made by some idiot, Paul W.S Anderson is the light weight british alternative to Michael Bay. With all the talent out there it is sad to see chumps like him get to work on films like these. I mean what has he done to really show his worth in cinema? AvP, trash. Soldier, trash. Mortal Kombat, trash. Three Muskateers, trash! The one film he done that is actually ok was Event Horizon and that’s because he wasn’t involved in any of the story writing process and most likely was surrounded by other creative influence as he hadn’t yet had total creative control which bizarrely he seems to have now days, again i ask, what has he done to earn this status of film maker? Compared to Spielberg who started small like every other director who started by making a mega low budget film called DUEL, then went on to make some other small low budget film, you may have heard of it, JAWS! He went on to make great film after great film and earned his power to pretty much have the say on what he makes and how he makes it. Then there is Paul W.S Anderson, do you think Milla Jovovich is sticking with him other than the fact he gives her work? Seriously listen to him in the AvP commentary, he sounds like a complete fool, that commentary was more fun than the film by the way….

    Rant over………………
