British comedian Ricky Gervais is reviving his most famous creation, David Brent from The Office (U.K.).  According to the teaser trailer "Brent's Back," we find Brent these ten years later seeming to be doing just fine, and attempting to get back into music (who could forget his earlier forays, from "Free Love Freeway" to "If You Don't Know Me By Now"?)

The segment will air on BBC One on Red Nose Day (a British fundraiser mega-event that gets some of the country's biggest names to help raise money for charity) March 15th, and will also be available on Gervais' YouTube channel that same day.  Hit the jump for more on this mini episode and for a teaser clip.

Watch the teaser below:

It's a bold move for Gervais to make, resurrecting a character who helped change the landscape of sitcoms in the 2000s (think of how many shows thrive off of The Office's dry mockumentary formula, not to mention its own exceedingly popular American version).

Gervais fans (and Office fans) may be nervous after Gervais' latest stint of projects which have been pretty universally panned, like the Warwick Davis vehicle Life's Too Short.  His most recent project, Derek, currently airing in the U.K., in which Gervais portrays an autistic man, has also been met with mixed feelings (the series doesn't know whether to be irreverent or beat you over the head with sentimentality).  Though his series Extras was close to the greatness of The Office, nothing quite holds up against his inaugural TV work.

Still, from the teaser things do look promising, and Gervais left this door open when the series ended.  Some viewers may recall Tim (Martin Freeman) saying, "Come back, come back here in 10 years, see how I'm doing then.  Cause I could be married with kids, you don't know.  Life just goes on." Maybe it is time to make good on that offer.
