Vin-Diesel-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-interview

Opening this weekend is director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.  As most of you know, the story follows five intergalactic misfits—Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), and Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper)—as they set out to protect a powerful and mysterious orb from the villainous Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace).  Loaded with great performances, an extremely funny script, and some fantastic action sequences,Guardians of the Galaxy should be a big hit with moviegoers and it helps to explain why Marvel was so quick to announce that a sequel is coming July 28, 2017.

At the recent Los Angeles press day, I landed an exclusive video interview with Vin Diesel.  He talked about his reaction to watching Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time, taking his kids to the screening, the status of another Riddick sequel, upcoming projects like Kojak, his Hannibal trilogy, xXx 3, and more.  Hit the jump to watch.

I’m surprised you guys haven’t mentioned the Groot poster with the flower and little girl yet. Pretty much the most awesome poster ever.

The rest of the batch by Matt Ferguson is pretty awesome as well.

I love it when Actors are truly excited about the projects they are working on. Its refreshing to see that kind of enthusiasm.

      • Jack Dennis

he has definitely learned to embrace his persona which is great. i remember there was a time when he said no to all sequels . im glad he changed his mind!

  • appolox

Am I the only one who liked Chronicles of Riddick?

    • pwnednoob

Nope. Very fun Flick. Might be my least favorite of the Riddick movies, but I still liked it.

      • appolox

Yeah I’ve noticed critics don’t seem to have a sense of fun.

      • Leo Spaceman

        Cough cough Goldberg cough cough.

it’s almost on par with pitch black.

    • Lovecraftlives

No! I liked it too! The extended cut is why much better than the regular version. I loved all the Riddick films, plus the anime. Go Riddick!!!

Chronicles of Riddick is a fantastic movie, I watched it with my (ex) girlfriend who was studying costume for her degree at the time and she was in awe of the designs, I thought it was the perfect follow up to Pitch Black in a way that Aliens was to Alien. Fuck the critics.

Nope! I loved the change in direction. I liked “Riddick” a lot, but it felt like Pitch Black 2.0

  • Robbie Boyle

This dude seems seems incredibly down to earth, cool and respectful.
Great to see this in comparison to some of the tool actors out there (shia…?)

    • Jack Dennis

shias just going through some hard times it seems.he’s got a lot of potential to be a great actor.

      • rodriguez256

I agree as well. He’s is a good actor with loads of potential and he is going through a rough patch. Hope he gets the help he needs and turns his image around.

  • Jack Dennis

can’t wait to see another riddick movie as well as a xxx sequel.anyone else like xxx?

    • rodriguez256

I wonder how it will be done. In the sequel didn’t Sam Jackson tell I e Cube that the previous XXX (being Vin) was taken out and killed?

      • Jack Dennis

i didn’t pay too much attenion to the sequel but i think so.of course he could have been lying for whatever reason.vins character could’ve lead them to believe he was taken out.lots of possibilities!im wondering who wrote the script for this sequel?

      • rodriguez256

        Very true.

  • TigerFIST

    Good stuff

  • http://porcelaintheology.blogspot.com/ KISSman

Always like Vin. Seems like a cool guy.

  • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

It’s hilarious because like Ving Rhames, Diesel always plays such badass, or hard edged characters, and then you see an interview and you’re like Who is this guy? He always seemed down to Earth though. Was very in touch with the fact that this was all because of his fans. He’s always made it about them.
