First Images of James Franco, Freida Pinto, and Andy Serkis on the RISE OF THE APES Set; Plus, First Image of Ghostface from SCREAM 4

We’ve got a pair of set photos for you today.  The first comes from the set of Rise of the Apes, and features stars Freida Pinto and James Franco walking across a bridge with what currently looks like Andy Serkis, but will eventually resemble an ape on screen.  The Planet of the Apes reboot also stars John Lithgow, Brian Cox, and Andy Serkis, and Tom Felton.

The other comes from Wes Craven’s Scream 4 set, with the iconic villain Ghostface in frame.  Original cast members Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette will all reprise their roles in some capacity, while Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettierre, Rory Culkin, and Adam Brody are new to the sequel.  Check out both images after the jump.

UPDATE: Fox has asked us to take down the Rise of the Apes image…sorry if you missed it.

This is exactly the type of behind-the-scenes look I like to see in set photos.  I’m curious to see how Rise of the Apes Serkis will compare to King Kong Serkis.

Here’s the synopsis for Rise of the Apes:

Rise of the Apes is a completely new take on one of 20th Century Fox’s most beloved and successful franchises. Oscar-winning visual effects house Weta Digital – employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for Avatar – will render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors.

Rise of the Apes is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

Craven tweeted this photo of Ghostface 4.0 with the message “He’s baaack!”  Any guesses as to who might be under the mask (in the event that it’s not just a stunt double)?

WHOA DUDE!!!!!!! Ghost face is awesome!!!! I love the new design for it in this one!!!! This movie is going to be VERY original and not just a money making disposable film like the other movies. This one is going to push the boundaries of cinema!!! And the new Rise of the APES, who would've thought of an idea like this one?!!!! WOW these movies are so original. NOBODY in their right mind would ever do these outside of Hollywood. Independents have no imagination nor can they actually think of anything since they have no money like the big studios.!!! I'm so amazed that Hollywood is going a different direction. I just love how they don't follow a investor money making formula at all. They're taking a chance with new material, they're pushing the limits of storytelling. WOW, ORIGINALITY!!! This is going to be awesome!!! This is like taking a white hot fire poker and shoving it up my…
