While filmmaker Jon Favreau has been dabbling in big-budget studio fare for the past few years, his next film returns him to his indie roots.  Favreau wrote, directed, produced, and stars in Chef as a chef who loses his job and opens a food truck with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo), and his son (Emjay Anthony) in order to recapture his artistic promise.  Favreau enlisted some of his friends to appear in the film as well, including his Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr., who has also contributed some original artwork to the pic.  In anticipation of the film’s premiere at SXSW, Favreau has unveiled a video in which he and Downey Jr. display some festival posters that RDJ designed for the film.  They’ll be giving away some signed posters at screenings and around town if you’re attending the festival in Austin, so be sure to keep an eye out.

Hit the jump to watch Favreau and Downey Jr. unveil the posters and crack a few jokes in the process.  Chef opens in theaters on May 9th.
