Earlier today I attended the Los Angeles press day for “Star Trek”. In the coming week I’ll be posting tons of video interviews, so get ready for an onslaught of Trek stuff. However, I did get an update on “Cowboys and Aliens” that I figured you’d like to hear about right now.

If you haven’t heard about “Cowboys and Aliens”, it’s based on a comic of the same name and the premise is aliens land on Earth in the mid 1800’s. Their plan is to enslave humanity, but the cowboys and Native Americans have other plans. While I haven’t read the comic, I have heard good things.

Anyway, the reason you might want to care about this project is awhile ago Robert Downey Jr. was rumored to be attached. But it gets better.

While I knew Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (“Transformers”, “Star Trek”) were writing the project, I didn’t know Damon Lindelof (“Lost”) was also writing it with them.

As someone who thinks “Lost” is the best show on television, anything that Damon Lindelof is involved with I care about.

Also, I saw “Star Trek” last night, and once again Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have shown they know what they’re doing as “Trek” was fantastic and something everyone involved with should be proud of. Here’s my initial thoughts and some clips from the movie.

Anyhow, here’s the part of my exclusive video interview with Roberto and Alex where they update us on the status of “Cowboys and Aliens”. They say they’re hoping it goes later this year and there has been an enormous amount of calls about the project.
