New photos have leaked from the set of Jose Padilha‘s RoboCop remake, and they show that the cyborg police officer has a new set of wheels.  The motorcycle in the images looks nifty and futuristic.  It’s also nice when heroes can get their vehicles to resemble their outfit.  Imagine a future where everyone’s car was a reflection of their daily attire.  In the comments section, please tell me the automobile-equivalent of a t-shirt and jeans.

Hit the jump to check out the set photos.  The film stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel, and Jackie Earle Haley.   RoboCop opens August 9, 2013.

Here’s the official synopsis for RoboCop:

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Director José Padilha (Elite Squad) reimagines the tale of part man, part machine, all cop starring Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title character, Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) as the scientist who creates RoboCop, and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) as media mogul Pat Novak. RoboCop is being produced by Strike Entertainment’s Marc Abraham and Eric Newman, with Eric Carraro as Executive Producer. The film is currently in pre-production and slated for a summer 2013 release.

  1. WOW! Nice wheels and combo. If this were a movie reboot of 80s tv show STREET-HAWK, I would be so psyched!
Unfortunately, its an unnecessary reboot of Robocop, so I’m meh!

Had it been a sequel, or a spin-off of Robocop or even Murphy’s son set years into the future I would have also been psyched. That would have added to the series rather than stepped all over it.

    • Murphy’s son? Really? I rather have them make an “unnecessary” remake than taint the legacy of the first film (RoboCop 3 already did that). If this remake is good, we can all enjoy it and win, but if not, we can just ignore it and go watch the original. Case solved.

Love the wheels by the way, and it does make sense that a corporation would want its products to match whatever accessories they build for them.

  2. The kind of t-shirt is key.
Black t-shirt? Dodge Challenger with silver racing stripes.
    AC/DC t-shirt? Chevy Camaro, t-top.
Affliction t-shirt? Mitsubishi Eclipse, blaring some suh-weet new Nickelback tunes, bro.

  3. So Michael Knight let some dude from Tron borrow the motorcycle version of KITT…I’m less than impressed.

The “car version” of jeans and a T-shirt is a blue Ford pick-up, duh.

    The \"car version\" of jeans and a T-shirt is a blue Ford pick-up, duh.

  5. I have to disagree with the above posters, the T-shirt and Jeans equivalent would be the Ford Pinto, both are highly flammable and make most people look utterly ridiculous

  6. Still can’t get over the suit! I’m all for it looking more up to date as it’s a new directors vision and he wishes to bring it to a new audience. But this just looks like some sort of Gi Joe/ Dark knight love child. Robocop is not a man in a suit, which this look’s like…he is part man part, part robot!

  7. I didnt catch it before, he has a red visor, so his RoboCycle has red lights, you see what they did there? using the red for BOTH!… god I hate life…

  8. This is what Robocop is looking like: sp0.fotolog.com/photo/16/20/31/fenix_blanco/1226674820347_f.jpg anyway, i’m now curious to see this thing in motion… I would like to see a trailer… I don’t know why, but i get the feeling that this thing is going to fly somewhere in the movie… Weird: yes. Robocop: no. Good: maybe!!

  9. i guess that depends on the viewer’s state of intoxication, ’cause then even the biggest stinker can seem decent. Seriously though, remakes (or whatever folks want to call them) don’t have a very good track record for the most part and the screens released thus far certainly confirm that this could fail. Certainly, based on what we’ve seen so far (yes I know it’s early day but still) they are unlikely to make a ton of money from fans (such as myself) of the original flick. Perhaps with the teens then?
