Back in June, we saw a teaser banner for Jose Padilha‘s upcoming RoboCop remake at a 2012 License Expo. Today, a high-quality version of the licensing banner has gone online. I think the image is a close-up of the suit, but I have no idea where on the suit the logo is meant to be. If I had to guess, I’d say top of the thigh, maybe? Possibly? It would be better if the teaser poster gave a better sense of the suit’s contours, although maybe keeping the suit under wraps might be a good idea considering the negative reaction to the leaked set photos. Personally, I don’t have an opinion on set photo of the suit since A) it may only be one of multiple suits Murphy wears in the movie, B) it’s out of context, and C) it may be altered in post-production.
Hit the jump to check out the licensing banner. The film stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel, and Jackie Earle Haley. RoboCop opens August 9, 2013.

Here’s the official synopsis for RoboCop:
In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.
Director José Padilha (Elite Squad) reimagines the tale of part man, part machine, all cop starring Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title character, Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) as the scientist who creates RoboCop, and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) as media mogul Pat Novak. RoboCop is being produced by Strike Entertainment’s Marc Abraham and Eric Newman, with Eric Carraro as Executive Producer. The film is currently in pre-production and slated for a summer 2013 release.

The new costume is just terrible. It looks like Iron Man meets The Dark Knight. It’s like they’re not even trying to give it it’s own look. My hope for Murphy have been dashed.
And both of those looked like The Guyver, so let’s not just choose to complain when we feel like it. Let’s acknowledge the facts.
While this may be an acknowledged fact in Nerdville, I’m willing to bet a lot of people on here don’t know what the frick a Guyver even is but know who Batman and Iron Man are.
so “we’ve got the future under control” written in The Terminator font…????? is nothing sacred anymore? not even fonts!?!?!?!?!?!
troncop. sleek, shiny, pointless, generic.
