Opening this Friday is the new Walt Disney movie “College Road Trip.” The film stars Martin Lawrence as an overprotective father that isn’t quite ready to let go of his college bound daughter - who is played by Disney Channel favorite Raven-Symone.

In the film, Melanie (Raven-Symone) is eagerly looking forward to her first big step towards independence when she plans a “girls only” road trip to check out prospective universities. But when her overbearing police chief father (Martin Lawrence) insists on escorting her instead, she soon finds her dream trip has turned into a nightmare adventure full of comical misfortune and turmoil.

While the adventure could have easily gone for R rated laughs and situations, since it’s a Walt Disney movie and rated G, it’s completely safe for the whole family and I’m sure Raven-Symone fans will love seeing her on the big screen.

Anyway, the director of the film is Roger Kumble. And when you think of Roger and the films he’s done, you’re probably like me...wondering just how did he get attached to this movie. After all, this is the guy who made “Just Friends,” “Cruel Intentions” and “The Sweetest Thing.” Since I had the opportunity to talk with him at the press day, I asked this very question.

So posted below is the video interview with Roger. As always, I listed what we talked about above the video. And if you missed the movie clips from “College Road Trip” and want to check them out….click here. Again, “College Road Trip” opens this Friday.
