If you thought Lucasfilm had expended its Rogue One: A Star Wars Story teases at Star Wars Celebration Europe last week, you’re wrong. While it’s nothing close to a new trailer or behind-the-scenes-video, Lucasfilm did unveil a new Rogue One character on the floor at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 yesterday. The aptly named Edrio Two Tubes is described as a mercenary pilot who is partners with his eggmate, Benthic. His breathing apparatus allows his Tognath physiology to process oxygen atmospheres, and when his home world of Yar Togna is conquered by the Empire, he sets out to join the resistance and fight alongside Saw Gerrera.

Gerrera is a character who first appeared on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and he’s being brought to life in live-action form by way of Forrest Whitaker in the first Star Wars anthology film.

It’s unclear if Edrio Two Tubes will be a fully fledged supporting character or just a cool-looking dude who lurks in the background, but given the size of the ensemble already, I’m betting it’s the latter. However, given that he’s a pilot, hopefully we get to see some visually unique scenes involving this tube-infused alien.

When Collider’s own Perri Nemiroff caught up with Rogue One director Gareth Edwards at Star Wars Celebration, he described the unique approach he took to shooting the Star Wars film:

“We went to Jordan to film and we built this set in Pinewood that was 360 degrees so you could kind of look wherever you wanted. Normally on a set the extras are told, ‘Okay on action you walk over there and on cut you stop,’ and we said, ‘Okay for the next hour you’re cooking food, or you’re doing this car thing,’ and the crew were wearing costumes so if the cameras turned around on them, they wouldn’t be in the shot. So we tried to keep it all flowing and the actors were given the freedom to go where they wanted and do the scene in a way that felt right. So there’s a lot of freedom and it had this organic, different vibe to it than you associate sometimes with Star Wars, and so that felt really exciting.”
