Star Wars fans have learned a lot about Rogue One and the new planet to be featured in the film, and as we get closer to the December release date, information continues flooding in. To paint a more detailed picture of Jedha, Lucasfilm released official details.

From director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), we learned that Jedha is a holy site for Jedi and those we believe in the Force. Many have traveled their on pilgrimages, and the planet is known for a specific substance that is still unknown at this time. The filmmaker also said that Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and her crew journey their to recruit a particular member.

Here’s more information from StarWars.com:

A small desert moon frosted by a permanent winter, Jedha is home to one of the first civilizations to explore the nature of the Force. At one time a world important to the Jedi Order, Jedha serves as a holy site for pilgrims from across the galaxy who seek spiritual guidance. Now, the Empire occupies Jedha, and a prolonged battle between Imperial forces and scattered Rebels carries on in the timeworn streets.

One of the members could be Donnie Yen’s Chirrut Imwe, a non-Jedi Force follower who we see in the Rogue One trailers battling Stormtroopers on Jedha. Considering this new information about a war between the Empire and Rebels on the surface, another name could be Saw Gerrera, Forest Whitaker’s character. Saw was first introduced to the universe in the Clone Wars animated series where we was fighting beside his sister against Imperial forces. He could be doing the same all these years later.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story also features Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, Ben Mendelsohn, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen, and James Earl Jones. The film will premiere in theaters on December 16.
