Ron Perlman Cast as Corin, Father of CONAN

Ron Perlman (Hellboy) will play Conan’s (Jason Momoa) father Corin in Marcus Nispel’s upcoming action film, Conan.  Mickey Rourke was in talks to play the role, but instead opted to co-star in Tarsem’s War of the Gods.  But since Perlman is equally fine casting and with Stephen Lang (Avatar) as the villain, this film is shaping up to have a strong supporting cast of characters bolstering relative-unknown Momoa.  The film also has the hotness that is Rachel Nichols (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) so that ain’t bad either.

Perlman currently co-stars on the FX drama Sons of Anarchy.  He’s also due to appear alongside Nicolas Cage in Season of the Witch, which was set to hit theaters next Friday but it’s now been delayed indefinitely. [Vulture]
