We previously told you about Vin Diesel’s new web series, The Ropes, which follows a brotherhood of bouncers at NYC’s hottest club. Now rather than just read about it, you can check it out for yourself. We’ve got a new trailer for The Ropes, which is written, directed and produced by Diesel. But you can also start watching the episodes right now if you have a Netflix account. The series follows a group of burly gatekeepers as they make sure only the top-most talent gets in the club while keeping the riff raff out. However, the gang gets mixed up in some illicit activity and has to go to some extreme odds to protect their own. The Ropes stars Ryan Ahern (Unstoppable), F. Valentino Morales (The Fast and the Furious) and Gonzalo Menendez (The Island). Hit the jump to watch the trailer. (Update: The Ropes will be available for free across Crackle’s platforms, including Xbox Live on Xbox 360, staring this Thursday, March 8th.)
Thanks to Jeff Sneider at Variety for the heads up. Here’s a synopsis for The Ropes followed by the trailer below (via Crackle).
Synopsis:
Crackle’s “The Ropes,” a new original web series, produced by Vin Diesel’s One Race Films and Fox Digital Entertainment (FDE), is a homage to Diesel’s days as a New York City bouncer, taking an inside look at what really goes on ‘behind the ropes.’ The series stars Erin Cummings (“Spartacus: Blood and Sand”), Gonzalo Menendez (ACT OF VALOR), F. Valentino Morales (SHAFT), Ryan Ahern (UNSTOPPABLE) and Danny A. Abeckaser (YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN), among others. The series was directed by Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Cisely Saldana, Joe Ballarini and Frank E. Flowers and executive produced by Diesel and Samantha Vincent. A long list of writers contributed to this project including Diesel, Flowers, Ballarini, TJ Mancini, Michael B. Silver, Hernany Perla, J.P. Schaefer, Adam Lazarre-White and Danny Tolli.
“The Ropes” follows the young, naïve Martin (Ahern), who lands a job as a bouncer at New York’s hottest nightclub run by the over-worked Rizzio (Abeckaser). Big Vic (Morales), the club’s legendary head bouncer, takes Martin under his wing to show him ‘the ropes.’ Soon Martin is tempted towards the bigger scores of the nightlife’s seedy underbelly by Les (Menendez), another bouncer with his own crooked outlook. Rizzio’s right-hand gal Stacey (Cummings) tries to keep control of the behind-the-scenes antics while Martin must wrestle with his head and heart. Will he descend deeper into New York’s underworld, or leave his newfound “brotherhood” behind?
Six episodes, each 22 minutes in length, will debut across all Crackle platforms March 8, 2012 with an exclusive sneak peek of the series launching March 1, 2012 only on the Crackle XBOX 360 App. The series will be available in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

I started watching this show last night and I watched all six episodes on netflix. I didn’t even know about the show but now that I have seen it I was hooked. There should have been more episodes, or give us some hope for a season 2. This show is alot better than half the sh#t I watch on tv. Overall good show!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THIS SHOW…. NETFLIX NEEDS MORE EPISODES ASAP!!!!!!!!
Ive been working as a bouncer in NYC for 15 years, and also i worked for somebody for years that Vin Diesel worked for back in the day, dont think this as some realistic biopic of being a bouncer in NYC. This is straight up fantasy and it disgusts me to see that hes exploiting the honest and hard job that NYC bouncers do keeping people safe as some secret brotherhood as criminals.
Hey Jack. Why don’t you go and play a nice game of hide and go fuck yourself. Vin Diesel isn’t making this out to be a reality show. It’s a made up story. If you would pull your head out of your ass you would see how good it is instead of bitching about how it isn’t realistic.
