Fans of Rosario Dawson most recently saw her on the small screen as Claire Temple in Marvel's Netflix series, Daredevil, but she'll next be lending her voice to an iconic DC Comics character. Donning the cape of Batgirl, as well as voicing Barbara Gordon, Dawson is the latest addition to Warner Bros.' spin-off picture, The LEGO Batman Movie. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the character, Gordon is the daughter of Commissioner James Gordon who also moonlights in costume as the Caped Crusader's partner in crime-fighting.

THR reports that Dawson will join The LEGO Batman Movie cast alongside Will Arnett voicing the title character, Michael Cera as Batman's sidekick Robin, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. Chris McKay, who acted as Animation Supervisor on The LEGO Movie, directs this spin-off film from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith. There are few details available on the plot of the movie at this point except to say that it centers around one philosophical question: Can Batman ever be happy? We'll find out for sure when The LEGO Batman movie opens on February 10, 2017.

Dawson, meanwhile, is no stranger to voice acting in the DC animated universe. She recently starred as Wonder Woman in this year's release, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, and played Artemis in the 2009 Wonder Woman video. This will be the first time she takes on the role of Batgirl, however. Other recent voice work for Dawson includes that of the character Nyx in Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast, and the upcoming adaptation of Ratchet and Clank; you can watch the trailer for the latter film here.
