Rumor Killer: Captain Kirk is NOT Going to be GREEN LANTERN

     March 19, 2009

Written by Steve ‘Frosty’ Weintraub

Earlier today IESB reported that Chris Pine (the new Captain Kirk) is rumored to be at the top of the list for “Green Lantern”. Then, a bit later in the day, El Mayimbe on Latino Review confirmed IESB’s story by writing “according to my sources THE OFFICIAL OFFER is out Chris Pine for the role.”

I’m sorry to be the one to report that these stories are just NOT true.

At least according to my source, and mine is the same one that said Anton Yelchin wasn’t in the running either. Trust me, the person I’m speaking with would know.

While Latino Review and IESB have definitely broken a lot of casting stories, this is not going to be one of them.

Saying all this, with “Green Lantern” set to go in front of the cameras this September in Australia, I’d imagine we’ll hear official casting info soon. Until then….
