The Crazy, Stupid, Love team wants to get the band back together.  Directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa just made a deal with Warner Bros. to direct their script Focus, and Deadline reports that they want to reteam Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling from last year’s successful dramedy.  The new project is called Focus and centers on a veteran con man who becomes romantically involved with a newcomer to the business.  Expectedly (in a business based on deceit), things don’t exactly work out and the complications of their previous encounter “haunt them when they meet up again in the future.”  Hit the jump for more.I really liked the first 2/3 of Crazy, Stupid, Love (before it devolved into a farce), and I’ll see Gosling and Stone in literally anything.  I think they made a great romantic duo and would love to see them tango once more as con artists. Deadline notes that it’s still early days so Gosling and Stone haven’t yet been officially approached, but they are the desired leads of Ficarra and Requa.Gosling is set to film two Terrence Malick films later this year, and is still developing a Logan’s Run remake with Drive director Nicholas Winding Refn.  He recently wrapped Only God Forgives, also with Refn.  As for Stone, she’s apparently one of the top contenders to star opposite Johnny Depp in The Thin Man remake and she’ll star this summer in The Amazing Spider-Man.  Whether Stone and Gosling reteam for Focus or not, they’ll be see onscreen together again later this year in the period crime drama The Gangster Squad.
