Let’s get to a couple of casting announcements, shall we?

  • Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern) is reportedly circling The Voices, a psychological thriller directed by Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis) from a Black List script by Michael R. Perry (Paranormal Activity).
  • Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2) is in talks to join director Wes Anderson’s Europe-set picture, The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Hit the jump for more on both actors and films.

Ryan_ReynoldsDeadline reports that Reynolds is in early talks with Mandalay Vision and Vertigo Entertainment for The Voices. In what sounds like an absurdist dark comedy, the plot follows Jerry Hickfang (Reynolds) “a lovable but strange bathtub factory worker who yearns for the attention of a woman in accounting. When their relationship takes a sudden murderous turn, Jerry’s evil talking cat and benevolent talking dog lead him down a fantastical path that ultimately brings him to salvation.”  Reynolds’ future roles include voicing characters in both The Croods and Turboas well as starring in the Robert Schwentke-directed action comedy, R.I.P.D. and possibly toplining Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s Highlander reboot.  The Voices is scheduled to begin production early in 2013.

Via Variety, Fiennes is in talks to play M. Gustave, the composed concierge of The Grand Budapest Hotel.  Bill Murray (of course) will also be joining the Anderson picture, along with Jude Law.  Johnny Depp was previously reported as attached but will not be part of the cast.  THR reports that Angela Lansbury has also dropped out of the project due to her commitments to the stage production of Driving Miss Daisy. Fiennes will next be seen opposite Daniel Craig in Sam Mendes’ Skyfall.
