We’re happy to share with you the exclusive poster premiere for Lionsgate’s actioner Safe. Jason Statham stars as an ex-cop from New York who witnesses the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl. After rescuing her, Statham’s character learns that the girl has memorized a code that the Triads, the Russian Mafia, and corrupt New York officials all want. Directed by Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans), the film also stars Anson Mount, Chris Sarandon, Reggie Lee and James Hong. Hit the jump to check out the first poster. Safe opens April 27th.

A second-rate cage fighter on the mixed martial arts circuit, Luke Wright lives a numbing life of routine beatings and chump change…until the day he blows a rigged fight. Wanting to make an example of him, the Russian Mafia murders his family and banishes him from his life forever, leaving Luke to wander the streets of New York destitute, haunted by guilt, and tormented by the knowledge that he will always be watched, and anyone he develops a relationship with will also be killed.
But when he witnesses a frightened twelve-year-old Chinese girl, Mei, being pursued by the same gangsters who killed his wife, Luke impulsively jumps to action…and straight into the heart of a deadly high-stakes war. Mei, he discovers, is no ordinary girl, but an orphaned math prodigy forced to work for the Triads as a “counter.” He discovers she holds in her memory a priceless numerical code that the Triads, the Russian mob and a corrupt faction of the NYPD will kill for.
Realizing he’s the only person Mei can trust, Luke tears a swath through the city’s brutal underworld to save an innocent girl’s life…and perhaps even redeem his own.

had reservations about seeing this movie at first. Looked like another transport. Which was great the first time around. But I decided to check it out anyway. WOW!!! This was not the same. The story was incredible… lots of twists. Statham was hardcore in this one. Killed everyone, not just punch them into submission and walk away. HE GUNNED EM DOWN and pissed in their face.. YEAH BABY!!… The only unrealistic part was the fact that the russian mob, chinese mob Triad and the NYPD got owned by one man. HAHA Yeah right. But later they disclosed that he was special forces, kinda like a rambo . so it rocky can do it, why not Statham. IT WAS WORTH THE $10.50.
*yawn* did he ever play a different character? Stern face, black suit, pistol in hand. In all his 22 movies.

The poster is playing on Stathams name, face and transporter series popularity. Shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
Clearly this will be Stathams most down on his luck character yet. (easily eclipsing his Death Race character)
If you don’t like the genre of the movie, why bother clicking on it, just to make your stupid hateful comments.Statham is like Clint Eastwood in his Western movie day, he’s excellent at what he does, and he’s found a niche that not only works for him, but for millions of fans. So go back to your stupid teen movies and make your pointless comments there.
