We’ve got three action-heavy posters tonight. First up is Safe, in which Jason Statham plays “a former elite agent who fights to rescue a 12-year-old girl (Catherine Chan).” Next up is Vehicle 19, starring and executive produced by Paul Walker. The new promo poster is accompanied by the first synopsis for the film, which identifies Walker as a recently parolee who gets into trouble with crooked cops when he picks up the wrong rental car. Last up is Machine Gun Preacher, based on the true story of Sam Childers (played by Gerard Butler), “a former drug-dealing criminal who undergoes an astonishing transformation and finds an unexpected calling as the savior of hundreds of kidnapped and orphaned children.”
Hit the jump for all three posters and more info on each project.
Safe opens on October 28. Chris Sarandon, Robert John Burke, Reggie Lee, and Danny Hoch also star. Boaz Yakin (Death in Love) directed from his own screenplay. Poster via IMP Awards:

There are no details on the supporting cast for Vehicle 19 at this time, but the initial plan was to shoot at the end of this summer in director Mukunda Michael Dewil’s homeland, South Africa. The Film Catalogue, the source of this unfortunately small promo poster, lists the project as “In Production.”
Official synopsis:
A recently paroled man is given the wrong vehicle at a rental company and stumbles upon key evidence in a corruption trial. After being framed by crooked cops, he must circumvent an entire police force in a city he doesn’t know if he is to clear his name and get the evidence to the prosecution in time.

Machine Gun Preacher will premiere at 2011 Toronto Film Festival prior to release on September 23. Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) directed the $30 million independent production from a script by Jason Keller. Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon also star. Poster via IMDB:
This inspirational true story, Machine Gun Preacher is about Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing criminal who undergoes an astonishing transformation and finds an unexpected calling as the savior of hundreds of kidnapped and orphaned children. Gerard Butler (300) delivers a searing performance as Childers in Golden Globe®-nominated director Marc Forster‟s (Monster’s Ball, Finding Neverland) moving story of violence and redemption.

Great posters, those movies might turn out to be great.
It makes no difference who is the registered keeper or the legal owner. It revolves around who is the USER of the car.

I really hope these movies turn out to be great.
I think Jason Statham should The Expendables 2 and maybe Transporter 4.
Machine Gun Preacher on September 23rd? Where’s the trailer?
You’re right Ben, I just checked the ‘net and there doesn’t seem to be a released trailer as yet, which is strange as the movie is directed by Marc Forster- who’s last film just happened to be ‘Quantum of Solace of all things… a MASSIVE worldwide hit!
Maybe they’re hoping it’ll pick up a distributor at the Toronto film festival and get widespread release then, in which case, we’ll see the trailer pretty soon afterward hopefully. Or could it be because the film is about a born-again Christian actually doing good in thw world, something that evidently doesn’t fit into the studios’ liberal agenda, but I could be (and hope that I am) wrong, although just remember that no studio would distribute ‘The Passion of the Christ’, which went on to gross $610m worldwide, so no surprises…
I just checked further and ‘Machine Gun Preacher’ DOES have a distribution deal, Relativity in the U.S. and Lionsgate the rest of the world, which makes the lack of a trailer so soon before release all the more perplexing- maybe it will be out before the end of the month or just before it’s release so it’s fresh in people’s memories, hope so, I’d love to see an actual trailer for this movie.
Great posters! I’m especially excited to see Safe in October.
