After bringing the ancient evil of Ash vs Evil Dead to TV screens late last year, director Sam Raimi is now setting his sights on some potentially world-changing evils that may lead to World War 3. That's the title of Raimi's newest feature film, set up in a two-year, first-look deal between Billblock Media and Warner Bros. Pictures. It will take inspiration from George Friedman's non-fiction best-seller, "The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century."

While the source material is interesting, in that Friedman makes predictions about a possible future based on previous historical trends and the current geo-political climate, I'm curious to see what kind of take Raimi would have on it. In essence it should be little different from adapting a fictional work except that Raimi will have more freedom to get creative with the story, for better or worse.
