Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz are in negotiations to star in the indie action flick Deathgames.  According to Heat Vision, the film, "centers on a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses. Jackson orchestrates the games, overseeing them from his computer lair with the help of twin ladies who see to his every desire." So it's like The Running Man.  Or Series 7.  Or Gamer.  Or any other movie we've already seen that makes the obvious social commentary on the rise of American bloodlust combined with our desire for reality-based entertainment.

Jonah Loop, a special effects supervisor whose previous credits include films such as Collateral, The Transporter 2, and A Perfect Getaway, will make his directorial debut.  Loop also contributed to the script by Michael Hultquist, Robert Martinez and Tony Giglio.  Jackson will next be seen as Nick Fury in Iron Man 2 while Lutz will be trying to outrun Freddy Krueger in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.
