Now playing in theaters is Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Based on the novel of the same name by Ransom Riggs, the film stars Asa Butterfield as a young boy who stumbles upon a secret refuge for supernaturally gifted youngsters, headed up by the mysterious Miss Peregrine (Eva Green) only to learn that the children are in danger from ever-growing malevolent forces. The film also stars Samuel L. JacksonElla Purnell, Judi DenchChris O’Dowd, Allison JanneyTerence StampKim Dickens, and Rupert Everett and was scripted by Jane Goldman (Kick-AssX-Men: First Class). As a fan of Burton’s work, I’m happy to report the film is a lot of fun. It’s also one of those times where the material and director are perfectly suited for one another. Definitely recommended.

At the New York City press day, I sat down with Samuel L. Jackson for an exclusive interview. He talked about the DC/Marvel rivalry, his collection of Asian films, if he wants to direct, the look of his character and collaborating with Tim Burton, if Nick Fury will be part of Avengers: Infinity War, how much Agent Augustus Gibbons will be in xXx 3, and more. Check out what he had to say in the video above.
