Iron Man 2 made sure you knew about the secret superhero organization S.H.I.E.L.D. You have to because the group sets up the super-sized superhero movie The Avengers over the course of the next Marvel superhero movies, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. But the studio didn’t sign Samuel L. Jackson, who plays SHIELD head Nick Fury, to a nine-picture deal just to be a shepherd of a larger movie to which he’s only a minor character. In an interview with RadioBigBoy (via Cinemablend), Jackson said that the SHIELD movie is coming after Avengers. Said Jackson:
“The Avengers should start shooting some time next year, and then some time after that there’ll be a big S.H.I.E.L.D. movie.”

So we know Jackson will star in the film and presumably the two SHIELD agents we already know, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), will also return. Jackson revealed in his interview that War Machine (Don Cheadle) “is gonna show up a lot.” That’s not a bad start, but what other characters (if any) can we expect on the team?
First, I wouldn’t count out, Sharon Carter. In the comics, Carter is an Agent of SHIELD, and the character’s aunt, Peggy Carter, is Captain America’s love interest in Captain America: The First Avenger. Also, General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross (from The Incredible Hulk) has history with the organization in the comics. Of course, I don’t know how many characters will be in the film. How many can you have before you start taking away valuable screen time of Samuel L. Jackson playing the Samuel L. Jackson persona?

no, that makes one too many movies!! im sure it'd be interesting, but geez, there'd be better things to do, like make Avengers 2, iron man 3, incredible hulk 2, or none of those, and donate any many that would have been spent on the movie to kenya.

i would really love to see a superhero featuring actualy great action stars from the past that have already established themselves instead of the new, skinny emo action stars that are 20 somethings. or at least old action stars schooling new action stars (give me bodybuilders that look like superheroes) and teaming with them like an arnold and vihn diesel movie if arnold returns to acting. im a huge fan of samuel jackson but i think casting him as nick fury is like having a black spiderman. people are like wth. I think david hassleholfe made a better nick fury than jackson lol.
shield isnt that big to garner a 9 picture deal, i can see avengers or new mutants or many other marvel franchises but shield was never a popular marvel franchise to begin with. i predict fail for this turkey. why arent we doing movies like doctor strange or plenty of other cool comics than a silly shield movie? wth marvel, wth.
actualy who would make an utterly kick ass nick fury and why nobody hasnt thought of this is the dude that was the prego killer hero main guy who died in the watchmen and was in the loosers as the kernel. he absolutely looks the part. I personaly didnt like the original watchmen (liking the ultimate cut mildly) but at least he looks like nick fury to a T.all hes missing is his eyepatch.
