For a long stretch of 2015, our Editor-in-Chief Steve Weintraub asked just about everyone in Hollywood to play Save or Kill. The premise of the game is that you have to choose between two pop culture items -- Mario vs. Zelda, The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones, Marvel vs. DC -- and by selecting one, you have erased the other from existence. The stakes are high and, in many cases, will tear you apart as you wrestle with which you could live without.
Now, in 2016, we're retiring Save or Kill. But in doing so, we've made our own picks as a staff (we never agreed 100%, as you'll see) and are also opening up the voting to readers as well. Some of the picks are personal (I had to choose Game of Thrones over Breaking Bad because of how it took genre TV mainstream, yes, but also because I spent a good portion of several years making forever friends in GoT fan forums), and some are for the betterment of mankind (we almost got rid of 50 Shades of Grey), but whatever your reasons, check out our choices below and vote for your own in our polls. -- Allison Keene
