Scarlett Johansson is a busy girl and may soon be adding another film to her schedule. After reportedly hefty negotiations with 20th Century Fox, Deadline reports the actress appears to have finally struck a deal and is on the verge of signing up to star in Cameron Crowe’s We Bought a Zoo. Penned by Aline Brosh McKenna, We Bought a Zoo is an adaptation of Benjamin Mee’s memoir about an American who moves to England to run a zoo. She will star alongside Matt Damon.
Amy Adams, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rachel McAdams were also the top contenders for the role. Hit the jump to find out more about Johansson’s upcoming projects.
Johansson has a string of movies lined up, including two sci-fi flicks. As previously reported, she might be playing a sexy alien in Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin. She will also reprise her Iron Man 2 role as the Black Widow in The Avengers, and is being considered for the role of Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
In the meantime, Scarlett will take on hosting duties for the third time on Saturday Night Live on November 13.

How does she continue to score these parts? She is incredibly beautiful and sexy but she is a terrible actor. They made a huge mistake not hiring Amy Adams or Rachel McAdams.

I think Adams is more beautiful too if you ask me.
I’ve read “We Bought a Zoo” and I’m having trouble putting these pieces together…unless Crowe is really deviating from the book there isn’t really a “female lead” to speak of, and she would be horribly miscast in any of the female roles there are available (my first thought is obviously Benjamin Mee’s wife Katherine).
