With the DVD/Blu-ray of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World set to be released tomorrow, co-writer and director Edgar Wright has released a fun, previously unseen behind-the-scenes clip.  As Wright explains:

So check this out. A rough rehearsal video of the first scene of the movie, shot on my LUMIX stills camera with one twist. Because I didn’t want to jinx the first day of the movie by already shooting the scene, I asked my actors to do the opening scene in British accents.

Since Scott Pilgrim turned out to be great, I think it’s safe to say that the jinx was avoided.  Hit the jump to check out the amusing clip and go buy Scott Pilgrim vs. The World on DVD/Blu-ray tomorrow.

too bad cera is box office poison and ruined this flick. edgar wright is the real star. can’t wait to see his next project, i’ll pass on this bluray.

Michael Cera is not box office poison and was fantastic as Scott Pilgrim. Edgar did a great job and I also look forward to his next project. I look forward to picking this up tomorrow on bluray.

More like he is boxoffice poison and was fantastic as Scott Pilgrim.

        Hope there is a sequel.

keep hoping, there will never be a sequel, it was a huge flop.

I like how Cera isn’t hardly even doing an accent lol. I think there could’ve been a better star for this movie, simply because I don’t think Cera embodied who Scott Pilgrim was in the comics, but it was by no means a bad adaptation and is a fun entertaining flick. Unfortunately, since Edgar Wright is such a great director, Scott Pilgrim is his worst film yet (though it isn’t bad), it simply can’t stand up to the brilliance of his first two films.

Anyone who thinks that Cera ISN’T box-office poison is kidding themselves. Either that, or he just has a knack for picking the worst possible roles in existence. He was universally panned in this, and his presence alone was enough to kill it. Decent movie, btw, just severely, severely over-hyped by blogs and websites who should know better.

Take this website, for example. Why the constant, unending shilling for this movie? Its time has come and gone. Please focus on upcoming movies that haven’t been given so much exposure yet – that’s fairness. We’re all glad you loved Scott Pilgrim (some might say you loved it before you ever saw it) but please spread the love to other deserving films, too.

It came out, it tanked, now let it either become the cult-classic you think it should be, or wither on the vine of obscurity. Let the people decide; stop the shilling. Thanks.

God what an unappealing group of actors. cera wasn’t the biggest problem here, it was the horrid subject matter and over-acting actors. None of them seemed to care about their roles much — why should we? Of course we didn’t, and thats why this movie failed so bad. Its Edger Wright’s worst movie ever, and a cheap remake of Spaced. Go back to English Edger and make better movies please!! Not more of this American CRAP!!

havnt never read any scott pilgrims and going into this movie just because it is an edgar wright film, i have to say i thought it was great. It was no where near as good as wrights previous films or the amazing spaced, but it was fun and enjoyable. Also i dont know where all this hate towards cera came from, he is really not that bad of an actor. I mean you can argue he plays the same role all the time, but so does woody allen and no one is complaining. Also he plays his roles well but think he needs to get the right kind of movie. I would say that wes anderson would be a great director for cera to work with. Also bill murray is my favorite actor but often plays the same role ; broken flowers, rushmore, tenebaums, and lost in translation. (even thou i think all those films are awesome and rushmore is in my top 3
