Universal has released the first full Scott Pilgrim vs. The World trailer now that 100,000 fans have “liked” Scott Pilgrim on the official Facebook page. If you thought the first trailer was cool, this one will punch you in the face like a boxer on steroids. I’m really not joking around when I say I’m blown away by how well done this new trailer is. The only negative is at the end of the trailer, someone has added the tag line “it’s on like Donkey Kong.” If the tag line wasn’t there it would probably be my favorite trailer of the year. Either way, director Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim is looking more and more like it’s going to be an incredible movie and something special. But from the man that directed Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz…is that really a surprise? Hit the jump to check it out:

Here’s the official synopsis:
Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). A bass guitarist for garage band Sex Bob—omb, the 22—year—old has just met the girl of his dreams…literally. Completely agree Steve. Looks incredible, but yeah, that tagline toward the end was horrible. Definitely one of my most anticipated films of the summer. Edgar Wright owns.
Having read the graphic novels, my anticipation was really high. Every time they show more footage, it gets ratcheted up a notch. Love the style, with the musical notes, the floating hearts, and the various special effects. It's all very comic-y and awesome.
I haven't read any of the books but this sh*t looks awesome! If it weren't for INCEPTION this would be the summer flick I would look forward to the most.
ok, fine, they won me over. i can see this turning into a glib, exhausting mess if they aren't careful, but…yes – one more time. but then cera must try on a new character. this well is running dry.
