The first trailer for SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden has gone online. With as historical an event as the death of bin Laden, you would think that either this film or Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty would have provided a sense of tension, raised stakes or even a question of moral ambiguity that surely came with the operation. Neither trailer gives a sense of this, so at least SEAL Team Six isn’t out of its league with Bigelow’s bigger budget.
SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden, aka Code Name: Geronimo, stars Cam Gigandet, Anson Mount, Freddy Rodriquez, Xzibit, Kathleen Robertson, Eddie Kay Thomas, Kenneth Miller, Robert Knepper and William Fichtner. Written by Kendall Lampkin, SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden premieres on the National Geographic Channel on Sunday November 4th, just before election day. Hit the jump to watch the trailer.
Readers may find it a bit odd that the film is debuting on the National Geographic Channel rather than a typical theatrical release. The NatGeo team worked with The Weinstein Company over the past few months to hone the picture into line with the network’s audiences. While Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty will be released more than a month later and clear from any election ties, SEAL Team Six looks to be one last reminder that, hey, under Obama’s administration, the most wanted man in the world was killed.

Spoilers, much? Feels like it went through the whole movie…
Funny it says “untold story” when Mark Owen already released his book…
Second she sucked and messed up hurt locker, so um-realistic, army wives looked like real life compared to that. This movie looks even worst.
You do know that this trailer is not for the Kathryn Bigelow -directed Zero Dark Thirty? Because you did read the article before commenting, didn’t you?
First of all, Hurt Locker was amazing. Second, if you paid attention you’d realize this is from the PRODUCERS of Hurt Locker. There was no mention of Kathryn Bigelow who was the DIRECTOR. And THAT is the reason this movie looks horrible, plain-and-simple.
Kathryn’s movie is ZERO DARK THIRTY, not Geronimo. Learn to read. -_-
After we spent billions of dollars a week for 10 years, what it took was courage and leadership to finally bring the master terrorist to justice. A risky operation, not approved by Sec. Of Defense Robert Gates, successfully executed by a real team.
Thanks for making this movie
Master terrorist? The guy who was allowed to escape into Pakistan by our government? Why did his body get dumped into the ocean (so we’re lead to believe)? Why didn’t they take it back to America for an autopsy? Why didn’t they just apprehend him if he wasn’t armed, then just take him back to America for a proper trial? Dudes who systematically committed genocide in WWII were allowed a trial…
Hey, why did the seal team who did the raid supposedly end up dying in a helicopter crash? Why is there no video or image proof the guy is dead? How do we know he wasn’t dead some time ago, and this info was just being reserved to advance someone’s politics? Is it correct to assume that with no solid proof, Obama could still actually be alive? Was it really worth all the money and all the dead and destroyed innocent lives to catch this one guy? Is that really even what this is all about, or is there a bigger picture for why our government is hegemonically trying to dominate the middle east?
Well, that’s too much to think about, and it challenges the convictions instilled in me by my public school teachers about how great America is. I wouldn’t mind talking about it more, but I gotta get back to the grind since I’m only allowed to keep 65% of my money. I guess that’s the price you pay for being protected from Master Terrorists.
Won’t this movie OFFEND Muslims and result in violence in the Muslim world?
