Exclusive: Sergio Pizzorno Scoring William Monahan’s LONDON BOULEVARD; UK Release November 26, February in America

by     Posted 4 years, 1 day ago

While information regarding William Monahan’s London Boulevard (his directorial debut) has been sparse, I can report Monahan is done with the film and we’re very close to getting some new images and a trailer.

If you’re not familiar with London Boulevard, it’s about a man newly released from prison who falls in love with a reclusive young movie star and finds himself in a duel with a vicious gangster (synopsis via IMDb).  The film stars Keira Knightley, Colin Farrell, Jamie Campbell Bower, Stephen Graham, Anna Friel, David Thewlis, Ray Winstone, and Eddie Marsan.

Even though I can’t offer any new images today (hopefully soon), I can report Sergio Pizzorno (from the band Kasabian) has done the original score and the film will be released in the UK on November 26 and in the US in February.  London Boulevard will be the first offering from Graham King and Bob Berney’s new distribution company, FilmDistrict.  More after the jump.

While I’m not an expert on the band Kasabian (here’s their website), they’ve had success in the UK and Sergio Pizzorno joined the band after Christopher Karloff left during the recording of their second album.

Also, I’ve been told Pizzorno wrote an original score, but he did record some vocal’s on some of the tracks.  One of the songs is called La Fee Vert (The Green Fairy).

Finally, I should be talking with Monahan very soon.  Needless to say, I’ll be posting the interview as fast as I can.

More as I get it.

Thank you SO much for posting this.

Bittersweet US release date: glad I’ll finally get to see this, but I hate that it’s getting released so early in the “dumping ground months.” And I’m praying it’s not a crappy limited release, either.

Please post in interview as soon as you can. Can’t wait to see some stills and a trailer also. It’s been so long since we’ve gotten any news, and I’ve been waiting for this film since they started production.

Monahan is the shit – loved all of his screenplays (The Departed, Kingdom of Heaven) so far! Here’s hoping he makes it as a director!
