When we announced that Seth MacFarlane would be hosting the 85th Annual Academy Awards back in October, we were cautiously optimistic that he had plans to do something wildly inappropriate on such a big stage. Now, a few Oscars promos featuring MacFarlane have been released and they’re far tamer than I would have expected. Has MacFarlane been neutered into submission already? Maybe it’s all a smokescreen and he’s just playing along until he exhausts the live feed’s censorship buffer. it’s hard to judge based on promos. i mean, we all thought anne hatheway and james franco were cute in theirs.
Did we?
I could never do that – stand up there, joke around and get judged by the juggernauts of entertainment world. Sounds like a nightmare. McFarlane could probably pull it off, though – he’s been making fun of celebrities for ever.
The question is, can he pull it off without being controversial? Sure, why not. Controversy is only funny to an extent.
They’re all okay. Nice little promos I suppose.
I really like the first one though. Different. Differents good. Do more different.
Those promo’s are awful. They’re laughably BAD.
It just found them painful.
The first one was CLASSIC Seth, the next 2: Meh, and the third was just him channeling ted.
