Seth Rogen and Chris Pine are among the actors who are being considered to star opposite Reese Witherspoon in McG’s This Means War.  The story [via The Wrap], “follows two best buddies whose friendship is put to the test when a woman moves into their spare room. As they fight for her affections, New York City is literally left demolished in their wake — including such landmarks as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.”  Chicks dig guys who destroy cities.

Of course, Rogen and Pine are just on a wish list, but it is interesting that the role of “FDR” (a character named after the late President because his parents had high hopes for him) could be played by two wildly different actors.  However, The Wrap speculates that Rogen could take a role initially offered to James Franco and Pine taking FDR.  It’s slightly easier to see Rogen taking a role that Franco would have played, but that may just be because of the rapport they had in Pineapple Express.

I've just read the basic plot of This Means War and once again, it's going to have New York and its most famous landmarks destroyed. What's with you Americans wanting to see/make films about your cities being destroyed? To me, that is CRAZY, almost criminally insane. Why should I want to see a movie with such a premise? In the last 10 years, just what hasn't Hollywood done to your American cities and well known establishments, eg White House being destroyed in Independence Day etc. Enough already! However, Chris Pine is fine by me.

So in the end of this movie, if ever made, the starlet will probably chose the bloke that destroyed the most real estate. Better as a cartoon than a live action movie. IMHO.
