Back in August, I hoped that the release of some new images from Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows would precede the arrival of a new trailer for the film.  That was at the end of August, we're now in mid October, and there's still no new look at the film.  While I imagine it will still have the same tone, I'm eager to get a better look at Jared Harris as Moriarty, but I suppose I'll have to continue waiting.  In the meantime, there are a couple new character posters to tide me over.  If you forgot what Holmes and Watson looked like, you'll enjoy these posters.  You may notice that the backgrounds show clouds of smoke eminating from the base of Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower.  Why do supervillains hate famous landmarks?  What did those landmarks ever do to them?  Also, I didn't know Watson's full name was "Watson A Game of Shadows".

Hit the jump to check out the posters.  Sherlock Holmes:  A Game of Shadows opens December 21st.
