First Trailer for LCD Soundsystem Film SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS

While the eventual break-up of most bands tends to come from a place of jealously/anger/greed/jealously, LCD Soundsystem left the limelight a little differently. When the band decided to call it quits after nearly a decade, they scheduled one last show at Madison Square Garden. Directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace chronicled the 48 hours encompassing the final concert in the new film Shut Up and Play the Hits. A first trailer for the pic has gone online, and fans of the band should be quite pleased. It’s certainly an interesting concept and I’m looking forward to seeing how the whole thing is put together.

    By differently you mean doing the exact same thing as The Band in the Last Waltz??? This is a perfect example of he lack of original ideas in Hollywood

      Erm… really?

      I don’t think The Band were the only or last band to make a live video/documentary, it’s par for the course, there are 100′s of them out there and dozens made every year and this one simply documents the end of LCD Soundsystem. It’s like saying Hollywood lacks ideas for making new movies or every musician lacks originality for making a new song and besides, this doesn’t look like a big budget blockbuster, it’s probably an Indie production.
