Lionsgate has released a new Sicario clip and featurette for director Denis Villeneuve's (Enemy, Prisoners) upcoming cartel thriller. Every piece of the film we've seen so far, be it in trailers of clips, has been bracing and compelling and the latest bit, which is the most tense, anxiety inducing footage we've seen so far, is no disappointment.

Sicario stars Emily Blunt as an idealistic FBI agent enlisted by members of a government task force (Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro) to take out a Mexican cartel boss. The Film also stars Jon BernthalVictor Garber, and Jeffrey Donovan ,and reunites Villeneuve with legendary director of photography Roger Deakins. Sicario will play at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival before it arrives in select theaters September 18th and expands wide on October 2nd. Check out the new clip below.

That's cold-blooded marketing, Lionsgate. All that tension and no relief! Well, as it happens, you can find out what the unhinged-looking man with a gun decides to do in the featurette below, but watch at your own peril. I'm pretty sure I spotted a significant spoiler in there that I wish I hadn't seen. Even with that in mind, Sicario looks fantastic -- gritty, tense as hell, and packed with killer performances.

Here's the official Sicario synopsis.

In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
