A new U.K. trailer for director Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming psychopharmacology thriller Side Effects has been released online.  The film stars Rooney Mara as a troubled young woman who develops a dangerous love triangle between her doctor (Jude Law) and her newly paroled husband (Channing Tatum).  This new trailer sets up the pharamacology portion fairly quickly, but then we get some promising looks at just how dark, sexual, and crazy Soderbergh looks to be going.  There’s quite a bit of new footage to thumb through, and I’m hoping that this trailer doesn’t show too much.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer.  The film also stars Catherine Zeta-JonesSide Effects opens on February 8th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Side Effects:

SIDE EFFECTS is a provocative thriller about Emily and Martin (Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum), a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily’s psychiatrist (Jude Law) – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects.

  1. Going to check this out in a couple hours. Not entirely sold on it being anything special. But it’s Soderbergh so it should be entertaining at the very least.

    • @Jamie after reading the script I can tell you without reading the script it spoils very little. In the movie you may realize some things faster but the important plot points are still hidden.

  3. Dude, Collider; quit playing stupid advertisements on the side bar. how am i supposed to watch the damn trailer if you guys have this stuff all over the place?
