The first theatrical trailer for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D has been released.  The film is a sequel to 2006’s Silent Hill, and centers on a daughter and father who are on the run from dangerous forces that remain unknown to the young girl.  When her father goes missing, the young girl (Adelaide Clemens) must set out to discover what happened.  I’m not familiar with the video game series or the first film, but Game of Thrones fans might get a kick out of seeing Sean Bean and a clean-shaven Kit Harington.  The pic also looks to have some interesting creature design, and it’s obvious from the footage that the 3D will be put to heavy use.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer, and if you missed it you can watch the first clip from the film right here.  The pic also stars Carrie-Anne MossMalcolm McDowellRadha MitchellDeborah Kara Unger, and Martin Donovan.  Silent Hill: Revelation 3D opens on October 26th, 2012.

Here’s the synopsis for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D:

Based on the groundbreaking video game franchise, SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D is the sequel to the hit film SILENT HILL, which opened to number one at the U.S. boxoffice and took in nearly $100 million at the worldwide box office.  Featuring an unparalleled horror experience, Konami’s Silent Hill franchise has captivated fans for more than a decade and has spawned a hit comic book series, graphic novels, collectible action figures and numerous soundtracks from rock bands. In SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand.  On the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is.  The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her forever.

the whole thing is about being in limbo, the main characters are probably already dead but the first one was actually really good Pyramid head ripping the skin off a girl is still one of my favorite scenes in a horror movie

I have to say, as far as video game adaptations go, Silent Hill ranks pretty much at the top for me. Bigger budget films have tried, taken themselves too seriously (i’m looking at you Street Fighter!), and failed miserably.

Christophe Gans definitely got it right with the first Silent Hill. The look, the feel, the sound, the atmosphere. All of it was as unsettling as it is in the games. I’m glad Pyramid Head is back. If it wasn’t, I probably would have have been was less excited to see this.

Likewise,i thought the first film’s sense of dread & creepy atmosphere was spot on,…i will def be catching this’un.

Not sure how I feel about this, but I’m a big fan of the games and the first movie and there’s enough in this trailer to make me want to see it.

i can barely see any footage, i was only able to see a 3FUCKINGD that pop out of my screen every damn sec

    ……was this produced by KRAFT?

    the acting looks really mediocre.

  • Grayden

The 3D is unnecessary. Apart from that, I really don’t have anything bad to say about the trailer. I saw everything I was hoping for along with an actress that reminds me way too much of Michelle Williams to the point of distraction. Am excited.

  • Ben

This game series deserves a real director, with a real script. I can already tell this will suck unfortunately. The games are so good.

  • Trick

Don’t mix that Game of Thrones stuff with my Silent Hill..

  • yurine

looks promising, from the look of the trailer the 3d is unnecessary

Loved the first one…even if it were waaaaaaaaaaaay off base & all that…I dug it.

    I was weird…disoriented & disjointed.

I hope that this one gives about the same ethereal/surreal type feeling that the other one did.

Me too. I thought she was in college. When I saw the lockers I realized that this was going to be another one of those horror movies with 20-something year old actors pretending to be teens.
