First Clip and New Image from SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D

     July 16, 2012

A new clip and image from the upcoming video game adaptation Silent Hill: Revelation 3D have landed online.  The pic is a sequel to 2006’s Silent Hill, and stars Adelaide Clemens and Sean Bean as a daughter and father who are on the run from dangerous forces that remain unknown to the young girl.  I’m not familiar with the game franchise nor the 2006 film, but this clip features a bunch of creepy nurses threatening to slice-and-dice Clemens and Game of Thrones star Kit Harington.  The follow-up is apparently based on the story of the video game Silent Hill 3.

Hit the jump to check out the clip and image.  The film also stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Malcolm McDowell, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger, and Martin DonovanSilent Hill: Revelation 3D opens on October 26th, 2012.

Here’s the synopsis for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D:

Based on the groundbreaking video game franchise, SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D is the sequel to the hit film SILENT HILL, which opened to number one at the U.S. box office and took in nearly $100 million at the worldwide box office.  Featuring an unparalleled horror experience, Konami’s Silent Hill franchise has captivated fans for more than a decade and has spawned a hit comic book series, graphic novels, collectible action figures and numerous soundtracks from rock bands. In SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand.  On the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is.  The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her forever.

so….this is a comedy right? because it definitely isn’t scary. Of course, this is just a small clip, but i’m betting the whole thing will be as terrifying as a big box of kittens

Michael Bassett, the director, said that clip was edited to be PG-13-friendly for the family audience at Comic-Con, and the uncut scene is full-on R-rated stuff. Give it a chance.

They’ve got 2 sane people working together, so already they’ve missed the whole point. Everyone you meet in Silent Hill who isn’t trying to kill you should be creepy, distant and untrustworthy. Hollywood will NEVER have the balls to make a movie about that pure sense of isolation that SH is all about. It should be made as an independent film by a director who has total control.

You can’t tell from this clip. In SH a lot of times you don’t know a person is creepy until the next cut-scene. Like the nurse who seems to be a friend at first, but then turns into just another creepy nurse. There are plenty of cases. I have a feeling the Doctor in this scene ain’t exactly a good dude and I don’t think he’s going to survive in the film long.
