A lot of Internet companies have really dumb names. They’re cutesy, inoffensive, and give you no idea what the company actually does, although I suppose that’s nothing new (What does “Pepsi” mean? Or “Mattel”?). Nevertheless, there are countless Internet startups that have names that only an Internet company could have, and yet because their purpose is ambiguous, it’s left to the listener to try and deduce what the company actually does.
Enter the cast of Silicon Valley. The talented comedians sat down with Wired and were given a list of real companies that were valued at over a billion dollars and tried to guess what they do. It’s fun to see what they come up with and to see who’s the best improviser of the bunch (for my money, it’s Zach Woods).
Watch the video below. Silicon Valley returns for its third season on April 24th.
