Though Twitter on Sunday nights is usually dominated by discussion about the excellent Mad Men and Game of Thrones, HBO is also airing a killer comedy block in the post-Game of Thrones slot with Silicon Valley and Veep. As such, it comes as great news that HBO has renewed Silicon Valley for a second season and Veep for a fourth season. The former is the new series from Mike Judge that revolves around a tech startup in the titular Silicon Valley, and though we’re only three episodes in, it’s quickly proving itself to be one of the funniest shows on television. Moreover, Judge is offering up a weekly dose of brilliant satire that takes aim at our current culture of tech giants. If you missed them, be sure to catch up on Allison’s recaps.
As for Veep, the ensemble comedy remains as sharp and mean as ever in its current third season, which sees Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ lead character heading down a promising new path. If you’re not already watching Silicon Valley and Veep, I would highly suggest checking them out at some point in the near future. Watch trailers for the next episodes of both after the jump.
