Back in January, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg shared an image of the two “hard at work” on the script for The World’s End, the concluding chapter in the unofficial “Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy” which includes Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.  Following the success of the latter, Wright, Pegg and Nick Frost got busy with their separate projects (though the break gave us such excellent flicks as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Star Trek, and Paul).  Pegg is currently in the middle of filming J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek sequel, but earlier today he tweeted a lovely image of a completed draft of the script for The World’s End.  Hit the jump to check it out.Now this image doesn’t mean the script is finished (it’s only a second draft), but Pegg tweeted this little nugget of promise along with the image:

“I know we took our sweet time but as soon as I get back from outer space, we can finish this thing once and for all”

The draft is dated February 5th of this year (those crazy Brits have a strange way of writing dates), but it’s definitely exciting to know that Pegg and Wright plan on finishing the script once Pegg returns to Earth.  Wright has an Ant-Man movie in development at Marvel, but Frost previously said that the trio hope to film The World’s End sometime this year.  Depending on how long Marvel is willing to wait on Ant-Man, it’s entirely possible that production could begin on The World’s End in 2012.  This is very good news, as I’m assuming that most fans are as eager as I to see the three reunited on the silver screen once again.
