When it was announced that the sequel to Sin City would be based on Frank Miller's comic, A Dame to Kill For, the movie's title came as a bit of a no-brainer. Now, it seems the marketing machine may be ramping up a bit, as the title of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For appears to have undergone a slight title change. A recent poster sighting rebrands the sequel as, Sin City: A Dame to Die For. Perhaps the word "kill" was a little strong for someone who obviously hasn't seen the original film, so the more passive and self-sacrificial "die" makes more marketing sense, which is to say, none at all.
Whatever the title, the Robert Rodriguez-directed sequel stars Josh Brolin, Eva Green, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Stacy Keach, and Julia Garner, and opens August 22, 2014. UPDATE: The Studio has informed us the title has not changed. It's still Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
